The Avengers cast will present an award at 2013 Oscars
Marvel superteam assembling for the big night
The Avengers - well, most of ‘em - will reteam to hand out an Oscar at the 2013 Academy Awards.
Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo will appear on stage together to hand out an undisclosed gong on 24 February 2013.
That means Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth are the only members of the core supergroup not involved.
Show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement, “We are happy to re-unite the 'Avengers' cast to present on our show. Audiences who enjoyed the year's biggest box office hit will be excited to see these terrific actors back together again."
The Avengers is nominated for an Academy Award for Visual Effects. Samuel L. Jackson is the only actor of the bunch to appear in one of this year's Best Picture nominees (that'd be Django Unchained ). Chris Evans is the only actor of the five presenters to not have been previously nominated for an acting Oscar.
Seth MacFarlane is the host for the evening with the statuettes are given out on 24 February.
