The Avengers TV spot reveals alien villains: watch now
Joss Whedon's superhero epic gets another mini-trailer
The Avengers has released another 30-second TV spot, in which Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark does a head count for his super-team.
In a verbal show showdown with villainous mischief-maker Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Stark lists the several types of good guys he has on his side, and you've got to admit, it's pretty impressive.
The half-minute of footage also offers a close-up of the alien threat that Loki seems to have amassed. It's an admittedly brief glimps, but it's the first time we've had a visual of the snarling faces of the invading army.

And if you want a very slightly different Brazilian edit of the TV spot (with less aliens), you've got it:
What's nice about the TV spot is that it keeps RDJ's snarky, sarky wit at the forefront, rather than burying it under the action scenes. Let's hope the finished film keeps that priority too.
Avengers Assemble opens in the UK on 27 April 2012 (*squeal!*), while the US will have to wait until 4 May for The Avengers .
