Because this vacation isn't your regular sun, sea and sand excursion. Instead, you'll spend your time in paradise unlocking The Gloom, a psychedelic dimension of terror that feeds off negative energy. Hang on, what? Due on November 3, 2022 for PC via Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X and S, The Chant is an exciting single-player, third-person horror action-adventure from developer Brass Token that's as terrifying as it is intriguing. After a spiritual ritual goes wrong, you'll find yourself battling otherworldly creatures, reasoning with a recurring cast of steadily-unstable characters, and unravelling the legacy of a long forgotten cult in order to restore peace.
With that, you'll choose when best to fight or flee, all the while collecting, crafting and managing your resources in order to survive this cultist, cosmic horror-induced nightmare. You'll interact with your fellow islanders, each losing their grip on reality at varying, and worrying, speeds. And you'll harness supernatural abilities and spiritual weaponry in your bid to make it off the island alive.
Inspired by the psychedelic horror of the 1970s, The Chant is a unique slant on the action-horror adventure genre, underpinned by an unsettling electronic rock soundtrack composed by Paul Ruskay, best known for his award-winning work on the Homeworld series.
