The Dark Knight dominates Scream 2008

Christopher Nolan's second Batman movie dominated Spike TV's Scream 2008 Movie and Television Awards last night, collecting twelve trophies from the ceremony.

Nolan himself won for Best Director and 'Screamplay' (along with brother Jonathan and David Goyer), whilst Christian Bale and Gary Oldman received nods for Best Superhero and Best Supporting Actor respectively.

Heath Ledger received two posthumous awards; Best Fantasy Actor and Best Villain.

Surprise celebrity appearance

Guests at the ceremony included Kate Beckinsale, Jon Favreau, Sam Jackson, Seth Rogan, Winona Ryder and Liv Tyler. It warms our cold hearts that Hollywood stars are now attending horror, sci-fi and fantasy award ceremonies. There's some photos to prove it to the right.

George Lucas also made a brief cameo, stepping out on stage to receive the the Comic-Con Icon Award. As is increasingly common these days, he was accompanied by his own team of Stormtroopers. Surely he's aware of the message he's sending to the world about how he sees himself, isn't he?
