Win two nights in an Edinburgh hotel, free tickets for the city Ghost Walk and a copy of the creepy new novel by Brian Ruckley
Now that the Edinburgh Festival has finished for another year, Orbit has an alternate, far darker story to tell of the history of the vibrant city. The Edinburgh Dead by Brian Ruckley is set in nineteenth century Edinburgh, where the newly-formed police force investigate sinister scientific experiments and the criminal underclass. The book uses still existing tunnels and gaols in Edinburgh as inspiration, and deals with real-life figures such as Burke and Hare. You’re left with the feeling that there really could have been supernatural goings on in historical Edinburgh’s underbelly.
Ruckley has written us this special article about how the city’s hidden dark past and places inspired him. Plus Orbit has sets up this great competition for one person to win two nights for two in this Edinburgh hotel (photo above), two tickets to a creepy city Ghost Tour and a copy of the book.
