The evolution of videogame zombies

A horrifying history of the shambling flesh-eaters we love to shoot
Disposition: Friendly
Arguably another evolutionary dead end, Carl the Zombie Butler actually made his debut in MySims Kingdom, which introduced him as being unhappy with the swamp in which he was dwelling. He’s gotten an unlife upgrade since then, becoming a butler to a wealthy family in MySims Agents, in which he’s framed for breaking a crystal. He’s also loyal, sweet-natured and apparently isn’t cannibalistic in the least.
God, what a lame excuse for a zombie. Let’s move on, shall we?

After graduating from college in 2000 with a BA in journalism, I worked for five years as a copy editor, page designer and videogame-review columnist at a couple of mid-sized newspapers you've never heard of. My column eventually got me a freelancing gig with GMR magazine, which folded a few months later. I was hired on full-time by GamesRadar in late 2005, and have since been paid actual money to write silly articles about lovable blobs.
