Look out SHIELD – the Brits are coming. Iain De Caestecker, star of the much-missed The Fades , and soon to be seen in The Secret Of Crickley Hall just been announced as one the stars for the Joss Whedon TV pilot Marvel’s SHIELD , along with Elizabeth Henstridge, who’s appeared (briefly) in Hollyoaks .
The Hollywood Reporter says that De Caestecker will play Agent Leo Fitz and Henstridge will play Agent Gemma Simmons. According to character synopses released in October, “These two came through training together and still choose to spend most of their time in each other’s company. Their sibling-like relationship is reinforced by their shared nerd tendencies – she deals with biology and chemistry, he’s a whiz at the technical side of weaponry.”
They join actress Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May and Clark Gregg, who will reprise his role as Agent Phil Coulson. And a hearty congrats to both of them.
