The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey soundtrack details announced

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has revealed details of its official soundtrack(s), including full tracklisting.

It’s ideal for any particularly rabid fans, who want to pore over the song titles in an attempt to work out just what we’ll see in the first part of Peter Jackson’s whopping three-part epic.

The spoiler-averse need not worry, are there are no ‘[ Character name ] dies’ clangers among the song titles. It’s nice to see some chapter titles referenced though, with fans of Tolkien’s original novel sure to recognise ‘An Unexpected Party’, ‘Riddles In The Dark’ and ‘Out Of The Frying-Pan’.

And there’ll be a fair amount of Dwarf warbling, if the soundtrack is anything to go by.

Composer Howard Shore, reprising musical duties after doing a magnificent job on The Lord Of The Rings , said, ““I have looked forward to returning to the imaginative world of Middle-earth for quite a while. I read all of the books by Tolkien, including The Hobbit , when I was in my twenties, and his deep love of nature and all things green resonates deeply with me.”
