The Hobbit gets a brand new Bilbo Baggins poster

Following hot on the heels of the new trailer released last week, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has released a brand new poster, featuring Martin Freeman in badass mode as Bilbo Baggins.

The new image shows Bilbo dressed in his customary corduroy jacket, but in contrast to how we’ve mainly seen him so far, there’s a steely determination in his eyes.

Clutching his trusty blade, Sting (if you’ll recall, it handily glows blue when orcs are in the vicinity), the poster shows Bilbo in full-on warrior mode. This is one Hobbit who won’t be distracted by the offer of some pipeweed… probably.

As was the general opinion concerning the latest trailer, this new poster is distinctly evocative of the one-sheets released for The Fellowship Of The Ring , with Freeman capturing a similar blend of fear and courage as was apparent in Elijah Wood’s take on Frodo Baggins.

We can expect plenty more promotional material on the road to The Hobbit ’s big release on 14 December 2012, and quite frankly, we can’t get enough of it! You can check out the new poster in all its glory, below…
