The King of Fighters Neowave
Genres come and go, but 2D fighters still thrive on Xbox
Neowave also includes rolling evasion maneuvers, thrust attacks, a "Heat Mode" that adds extra damage to your attacks and three different ways to unleash your special-meter fury. If that list of hardcore options sounds like stuff that will only appeal to a small audience, you're probably right. Games like Neowave are $20 gifts for faithful King of Fighters fans, an ongoing love letter between the games' creators and their consumers. The hands-on version we tried featured impeccably animated characters, online play modes (another nice Xbox-only perk), and a ridiculous amount of team options. It’s exactly what the King of Fighters fanbase craves.
