The obscure Street Fighter game guide

Call us crazy, but we’re more excited about Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes than Street Fighter IV. Even though we’re still eager to get our hands on Street Fighter IV, it’s been far too long since we created a tag team with two characters in a bona fide Street Fighter ‘versus’ title. On top of that, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom looks gorgeous with lots of bright eye candy, fluid animations, and over-the-top super moves.

Two words: licensing issues. That’s why Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes is currently only available in Japanese arcades. A Japanese Wii version is scheduled to release on December 11, 2008. However, according to Capcom, there are no concrete plans to bring Tatsunoko vs. Capcom to the US or UK.

Luckily, in a post on GoNintendo.com, Capcom’s Sr. Community Manager, Seth Killian expressed interest in bringing the game to the West. “I will make sure Capcom knows this game would have a warm reception in the West should we be able to defeat that evil-est of Robot Masters: Legal Licensing Issue Man,” said Killian. So if you’re a member of the majority who hasn’t had a chance to play the arcade version and don’t plan on purchasing the Japanese Wii version, it seems that there’s still a sliver of hope.
