Carrie Fisher has sadly died today (December 27) after suffering a heart attack on December 23. The actress, who was best known for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars movies, was loved by millions and messages and tributes have flooded social media since the announcement of her passing.

Director George Lucas released a statement, saying: "Carrie and I have been friends most of our adult lives. She was extremely smart; a talented actress, writer, and comedienne with a very colorful personality that everyone loved.
