The Sweeney Todd trailer is here!
Blood-splattered musical action from Tim Burton
After catching your first proper glimpse of Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street, you might be forgiven for thinking it’s not actually a musical at all – and for perhaps suspecting the studio is trying to hide the fact.
There’s only one brief snatch of singing from Johnny Depp’s Todd in this first promo at all, though we have to say the film does look enticing. With Depp snarling away like Jack Sparrow’s meaner cousin and Helena Bonham Carter giving her usual gothic all, it appears to be classic Burton stuff – twisted, funny and dark.
Featuring the likes of Alan Rickman, Sacha Baron Cohen (of whom there is a fleeting glimpse) and Timothy Spall, the film arrives in our cinemas on 25 January. But you can get a taste of it from the trailer here .
