The Uncharted movie's still a thing: A-Team writer drafted for script duties
Writer and director Joe Carnahan will be writing a new version of the Uncharted movie script which is still totally definitely happening.
While he's both a writer and director he's only working on "the latest draft" of the script according to Variety. His commitment to directing Bad Boys 3 means he can't do the same for Uncharted. “In a perfect world I would love to do both, but right now, I’m only on board to write the script,” he said.
His back catalogue of work includes stuff like The A-Team, The Grey and Smokin' Aces. About the opportunity to work on Uncharted, he had this to say: "Archaeology today is in itself an antiquity, but that world has always fascinated me. Especially when you go to a museum today and wonder how a piece got there to begin with," which sounds... encouraging, I guess. He also added, “plus, the property itself is so popular that it was hard to turn down an opportunity to work on it.”
