The virtual junkie's guide to gaming's drug spots

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion | 2K Games/Bethesda | PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 | 2006

Mead is all well and good, but if you're looking for something a little more hardcore, any virtual junkie worth their weight in methamphetamine will want to over encumber themselves with some of Elder Scrolls' very own version of crack - 'skooma'.

Made from refined moon sugar, this illegal substance - which is taken as a potion - can have some odd effects when consumed in large enough quantities. Skooma freaks can run fast and jump high, even when sporting the latest in heavy armour. Get wrecked when you're fatigued, however, and falling over is about the only thing you'll be able to manage. View the movie to witness the hazards...

Considerate PC players will want to check out some of themods availableto provide the best skooma-abusing experience possible. As well as providing the opportunity of sprucing up theskooma den, one of these mods will actually get virtual junkies hooked on skooma by draining stats if users don't satisfy their cravings with a regular fix. We're still waiting for a mod that incorporates harsher withdrawal symptoms, such as uncontrollable shaking, vomiting and chronic diarrhoea.

I don't have the energy to really hate anything properly. Most things I think are OK or inoffensively average. I do love quite a lot of stuff as well, though.
