Two new characters are set to debut in The Walking Dead season 7, reports TVLine. The addition of fresh meat-- sorry, faces-- to the lineup isn't too surprising, but the claims that these characters won't have comic book counterparts, now that's intriguing.
"Naomi is a grandmotherly type who, having lost so many loved ones, is now willing to do whatever it takes not to have to bury any more," the site reports. "On the flip side is Jennie, a sunny-side-up kinda teenager ... who sounds a lot like Beth 2.0."
While the universes of Robert Kirkman's award-winning comics and the AMC show have always been separated, most of the main cast is at least roughly based on someone who debuted in print. The current main exceptions are Daryl and Sasha, who also happen to be two of the most popular characters of the show.
Only time will tell if Naomi and Jennie can stick it out for the long haul or if they're destined to become walker chow, but I'm hoping for the former. Season 6 had enough doom and gloom - especially that awful, heartbreaking finale.
