The Wayans brothers plan a cop spoof
The Scary Movie creators are back
And here we thought the Wayans had pumped out enough spoof films to sate anyone’s need for parody – not to mention all the unofficially spin-offs that have since surfaced (we’re looking at you, Date and Epic Movie!)
But no, the three Wayans brothers – Shawn, Marlon and director Keenan Ivory – have stopped by Paramount, waved the prospect of Scary Movie-type box office at the studio’s executives and emerged with a cheque to start developing a new spoof.
This time, they’re going after cop movies. Now, we could be wrong about this, but we thought they’d shot their load (look, in a story about the makers of Little Man and White Chicks, that’s considered intellectual humour) on crime pics with Don’t Be A Menace To Society In South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood. But more than 10 years have passed and we suppose there are plenty of new cop flicks to parody.
There’s no word on when they’ll start making it, but we guess it’ll be both not very funny and hugely successful.
