SPONSORED: The World Of Defiance - Win a PlayStation 3
Introducing the TV and videogame crossover
Syfy is launching Defiance , a brand new sci-fi TV show with an added dimension: you can also explore the world in a massively multiplayer online videogame.
Defiance is set in a ravaged future Earth 30 years from now, which now plays host to some unwelcome alien visitors who’ve arrived as refugees after a global catastrophe.
And for the first time ever, you’ll be able to enrich your viewing/gaming experience by combining the two formats (although you won’t need to play the game to be able to enjoy the TV show, and vice versa).
Grant Bowler ( Lost , True Blood ) heads up the cast as Joshua Nolan. The mysterious drifter is a former military man, disillusioned by the war between the humans and the Votans.
Under his charge is a young Irathient woman, Irisa (Stephanie Leonidas), who serves as his second in command. Together they roam across the post-apocalyptic remains of America, until they reach Defiance (formerly St Louis), a wild-west town that’s home to both humans and aliens. Mayor Amanda Rosewater (Julie Benz) struggles to maintain the alliance, as Defiance’s seedy core of gambling, weapon-smuggling and prostitution threatens to erupt when it stands on the brink of all-out war.
The sci-fi epic is launching in the UK on Syfy on Tuesday 16 April with a feature-length episode starting at 9pm.

The game from Trion is out now on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC
