Ridley Scott has revealed in an interview with Eclipse Magazine that he's finally returning to the genre which propelled him into the A-list of directors 30 years ago.
"I am going to do one," he says. "I waited for a book for 20 years, and I have got the book. I’m not going to tell you what the book is, but that film is going to probably be written within the next month. That will definitely be what I do next after Nottingham, the Robin Hood film that I am doing now in England."
Scott hasn’t directed in the SF/fantasy genre since completing the triple whammy of Aliens (1979), Blade Runner (1982) and Legend (1985) though he has produced the recent US TV miniseries remake of The Andromeda Strain.
All we can say is, welcome back mate (and we hope the book isn’t by L Ron Hubbard...)
