Thing prequel details revealed
Casting call gives us character info...
Spoiler TV have gotten their mitts on a casting call for Matthijs van Heijningen's prequel to The Thing , and there are spoilers galore.
Don't worry, we won’t give anything away, except to say that characters seem to include a female palaeontologist, who heads to Antarctica in order to join a research team investigating a downed spacecraft.
Also included in the call sheets are the characters of a rugged pilot, a Norwegian geoscientist, and of coure a load of nameless Thing victims.
The website also has a very generic description for the film which goes something like this:
In a remote Antarctica outpost, an alien spaceship is discovered far beneath the ice. When a group of ambitious scientists decide to thaw out one of the creatures inside, they're in for the terrifying fight of their lives...
We’re not sure if this synopsis is officially from Universal’s mouth, or just scraped together by Spoiler TV , but it sounds pretty standard.
Matthijs van Heijningen's flick starts shooting in Toronto on March 15, and will hit screens in 2011.
