Thomas Jane to team up with Sylvester Stallone for Headshot
The action thriller will be directed by Walter Hill
Thomas Jane will join Sylvester Stallone in action thriller Headshot .
The movie will see Stallone's hitman reluctantly buddy up with Jane's NYPD 'tec for an investigation after both their respective partners are killed.
Jane announced the casting himself on JoBlo's Arrow In The Head podcast.
On his relationship with Sly in the movie, he said: "He's a hitman, I'm a cop, and we're just opposite in every fucking way, and we need each other to get this job done.
"And of course I'm like, 'As soon as this job's over, I'm going to take you to jail, you know, you're a killer.'"
Despite solid performances in The Mist , Boogie Nights and Stander , Jane's movie career never quite exploded as expected, though he's recently had a resurgence of success on TV with Hung .
It was announced last week that Walter Hill would be at the helm of the project. Hill is best known for directing The Driver , The Warriors and 48 Hrs and producing the Alien films.
Headshot sounds like it could be an enjoyable throwback to the high concept actioners of the 70s and 80s. Let's hope Hill delivers some giddy, old-school thrills.
