Thor nabs Spidey release date
'You snooze, you lose' says Producer, probably...
Taking full advantage of Spider-man 's misfortune, Thor has leapt with both feet into the web-slinger's prime release date.
And with Thor moving into the coveted May 6, 2011 weekend, its original date, May 20, 2011, has been snatched up by the latest offering from the Pirate 's franchise; On Stranger Tides .
May 6th is prime real estate for summer blockbusters, and has been the date for Marvel movies since Spider-man climbed to a record breaking gross in 2002 - so for Thor to snag the weekend away from the web-slinger is quite the coup.
A sound piece of buisness sense then for Thor, which is due to commence filming this month - but as Pirates hasn't even confirmed a script, a start date or a cast, moving the release forward a week seems like wishful thinking indeed.
Let's hope the tides don't turn on this much awaited adventure... thoughts?
