Final Fantasy XIII-2 "time travel" trailer gets all Chrono Trigger
Rapid-fire series of short clips paves way for detailed progression of long levels
Hey, this new Final Fantasy XIII-2 trailer has time travel in it! Being as time travel has already received a Nobel Prize for Complexity in Narrative Devices (don't bother looking it up, we'd never lie to you), it's always a welcome addition to the plot of a Final Fantasy title. After all, we're talking about a series whose stories' aim seems to be “not making any damn sense” with a tangential sideline in “containing Chocobos.”
You'll be able to begin Final Fantasy XIII-2's long journey into impeccably-detailed confusion (and Chocobos) when the game launches at the end of this month – or get a taste by downloading the demo. We had another look recently, and found time to compare the game's two versions.
