The first Zelda game in the series, released in 1986 for NES, was simply titled The Legend of Zelda and gave gamers their first glimpse of Hyrule, Link and Princess Zelda.
Even though this was the first game in the series it still managed to push the boundaries of game design. Itpioneered now widely used functions such as multiple item use and the famillar task of finding items to solve puzzles.
