Toby Jones confirmed for Captain America return
He'll reprise his role as a Nazi doctor
Captain America: The Winter Soldier continues to swell its casting ranks, with Toby Jones the latest to confirm his participation in the forthcoming sequel.
Jones appeared in the first film as a Nazi scientist named Dr. Arnim Zola, a character who assisted Hugo Weaving's Red Skull in harnessing the power of the Tesseract, and he confirmed his reappearance in a chat with HeyUGuys at the Critics Circle awards.
Details surrounding how he will fit in this time around are non-existent at this stage, although given that much of the new film is set in the present, we'd imagine he'll only be appearing in flashback.
The news comes shortly after Hayley Atwell announced that she would not be reprising her role, although Sebastian Stan is set to return as Bucky Barnes, while Anthony Mackie has also joined up as Falcon.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and starring Chris Evans, Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens in the UK on 4 April 2014.
