Tokyo 42 is a little hard to describe. I mean, I could throw out a list of (accurate) descriptions such as "cyberpunk," "isometric," "colorful," and "kinda like Hotline Miami meets Akira, in a Monument Valley sort of way," but I really think you just need to see it for yourself. Fortunately, there's a trailer waiting for you riiiight here:
Right? It's just so… *makes strange motions with hands* different.
I really dig the bright colors, the subtle, almost non-existent shading, and the strange architecture that defines this world. It's sort of like what I imagined Tokyo looking like as a kid. Gameplay looks buttery smooth, and I imagine fans of bullet hell shoot-em-ups and the original, isometric GTA games will enjoy it quite a lot when it launches on Xbox One, PS4, and PC in early 2017.
