Tokyo Game Show – day two news wrap-up
So much is going down in Japan, here's what you need to know
Man oh man, did Capcom let loose the trailers and screens today. We were most struck by the announcement ofMarvel vs Capcom 3’s newest character, X-23 aka Lady Wolverine. Additionally, we got new videos of Mega Man Universe that showed off thecharacterandstagecreators, along with thesome gameplay, and acouplenewvidsfor Bionic Commando Rearmed 2. But our favorite of the day was this new, in-depth trailer for Okamiden:
Sega had a couple more tidbits today, including the very believable and slightly disappointing rumor ofPhantasy Star Online 2 coming in 2011 exclusively for the PC. And hot on the heels of yesterday’s Valkyria Chronicles III on the PSP reveal, the first trailer has popped up online.
Another rumor that we really, really hope is true: apparently Vanillaware’s gorgeously 2D and woefully underplayed Muramasa and Odin Sphere are gettingHD rereleases. Hopefully we’ll get more info before TGS is over, but we can only imagine what some of the best-looking PS2 and Wii games would look like in HD.
Above: Imagine this possibly coming out of a PS3 or 360
With all this news, on top of the reveal ofevery single new Pokemon in Back and White, Japan and its games have got our heads spinning. Hopefully we’ll have caught our breath by tomorrow to give you the next big update.
