Tom Hiddleston says Thor: Ragnarok might be his last Loki outing
He may not have his own film, but Tom Hiddleston's Loki is a big reason why the Thor films are so appealing. The character will be back on cinema screens next year for Thor: Ragnarok, and according to Hiddleston it may be the last time he'll be wearing the green leather.
While on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Hiddleston said "[Thor: Ragnarok] is coming around. I saw Chris Hemsworth in Australia. He lives about an hour away from where we were shooting Kong: Skull Island, and he was full of beans about Thor 3. Thor 3 will be cool because I’ve not done it for four years. I love working with Chris [Hemsworth]. This will be my last time out of the gate." Say it ain't so!
While that quote may seem quite definitive, when asked about whether or not the God of Mischief will be showing up in the Avengers: Infinity War movies Hiddleston's reply was telling; "I don’t know! Honestly, I don’t know. They haven’t got their ducks in a row yet. They make it up as they go along."
Marvel are notorious for how good they are at getting their ducks in a row, which has me a little suspicious as to Hiddleston's comments. This may very well be a bit of misdirection - a move straight out of Loki's playbook, incidentally - and given that Infinity War will be the culmination of everything that has happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe it makes sense that Loki would at least show up for a cameo. Here's hoping!
Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, and Mark Ruffalo, Thor: Ragnarok will be released in UK cinemas on October 27, 2017 before opening in US theatres on November 3, 2017.
