Tom Hiddleston talks The Avengers
Reveals his favourite scene
Thor star Tom Hiddleston is all set for a massive 2012, what with a leading role in Spielberg’s War Horse preceding his turn as The Avengers ’ big bad, Loki.
That second project is likely to catapult Hiddleston to superstar status, and the actor recently dropped a few tidbits concerning Marvel’s superhero blowout.
“My favourite moment on set was filming at a NASA location the size of a cathedral,” said Hiddleston in an interview with Elle . “I flew around like a trapeze artist in a rocket-testing facility in the company of Samuel L. Jackson and Jeremy Renner. That was a pretty good day at work.”
So how did it feel to be lining up alongside such a galaxy of A-list stars? Well apparently, it wasn’t as daunting as you might expect.
“For the first 10 minutes after you meet them, they have the wattage and charisma of movie stars,” says Hiddleston. "Then you have a coffee with them and you realize we're all the same, we're all just people.”
"All of the actors in The Avengers are so nice,” he continues. “Marvel has these code names for projects and the code name for The Avengers was Group Hug . It felt very much like a group hug on set."
Aww, it sounds delightful. We’ll all be able to bask in the reflected glow of the Avengers love-in when the film arrives in UK cinemas on 27 April 2012.
