Tom Holland wants an Avengers: Infinity War co-star to play Sully in the Uncharted movie
Tom Holland is everywhere these days, including being cast as young Nathan Drake in the upcoming Uncharted movie. He’s even got a few *very* interesting suggestions on who should play his wisecracking, cigar-chomping mentor Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan.
In a Facebook Live Q&A for Yahoo Movies, Holland was asked who he would like to see cast as Sully – skip to 20:50 for the question – and he threw out a few curveballs on who could be cast as his cocky father figure.
“I think Jake Gyllenhaal could be really cool,” Holland says, “But I went to the Jurassic World film set the other day to see my friend who is directing it, and Chris Pratt is on that film, who I’ve become very good friends with.”
(You can see where this is going...)
“I think [Chris Pratt] would be a great Sully.” It’s worth that mentioning that, were it not an origin story, Holland says Chris Pratt would be perfect for Drake himself. Having said that, who’s better to teach Tom Holland’s Drake how to be a smarmy little so-and-so than Chris Pratt? And I mean that in the best possible way.
It’s nice to see the Uncharted movie finally get a handhold after teetering on the edges of production limbo for the best part of 7 years. First there was the WTF: Mark Wahlberg as Drake, then there was more WTF (emphasis on the F) with the news of an R-Rated script before everything got condensed into the news that Stranger Things director Shaun Levy would be helming a Tom Holland-led Drake origin story.
