Tomb Raider Trilogy gets dated, priced and stamped as PS3 exclusive
Lara Croft compilation to ship with bonus content and updated aesthetics for PS3
Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics confirmed today that their HD remastered Tomb Raider Trilogy will be released as a PS3 exclusive, and that it will be heading to US shelves on March 22nd with a UK release to follow a few short days later.
Aspreviously reported, the pack will house HD remastered versions of Tomb Raider Anniversary and Tomb Raider Legend, as well as a copy of the trilogytopper Tomb Raider Underworld. Square Enix has also confirmed through theUS PlayStation Blogthat the bundle will ship with new content made specifically for the pack including an Underworld Lara Croft and Viking Thrall Avatars (shown below), a Tomb Raider theme pack and behind-the-scenes videos.
Confirming the PS3 exclusivity in a press release, Crystal Dynamics' head Darrell Gallagher said, "We're really excited to be able to offer gamers the chance to play both Legend and Anniversary remastered in high definition on the PlayStation 3...These are two titles we are extremely proud to have created."
The compilation will sell for $39.99 USD – or $39.99 plus the price of a PS3 for die-hard 360 fans.
