The Burning Crusade also unlocks the new jewel crafting profession, allowing you to create various gems that can endow socketed items with extra bonuses. Want to turn that sword into a weapon suitable for a Rogue? Throw some gems with agility bonuses in there to increase the weapon’s attack rating. Tired of running out of mana? Fill that same sword with spirit or intelligence boosting gems instead. Like enchanters, jewel crafters can look forward to raking in the gold for their services as they can augment all sorts of equipment to maximize your character’s stats and abilities.
