Total Recall remake rounds up potential female leads
Eva Mendes is in the running
With Total Recall getting ready to re-enter cinemas next summer, casting for the reboot has kicked up a notch.
Colin Farrell has been confirmed as the movie's Arnie replacement, so director Len Wiseman has now set his sights on a collection of young actresses who this week are reading for two of the lead female roles.
Quaid’s wife Lori (originally played by Sharon Stone in the 1990 Arnie film) and feisty Mars resident Melinda (Rachel Ticotin) are both in need of casting.
According to Deadline , a number of big name actresses are reading for both roles, including Kate Bosworth and Diane Kruger for Lori, and Eva Mendes, Paula Patton, Jessica Biel and Eva Green for Melinda.
Frail Bosworth and generally-meek Kruger seem like odd choices, considering both Lori and Melinda are considerable ball-busters.
Mendes we can definitely see as Melinda, but Lori demands an actress who can pull off both the conniving and physical aspects of the character. More when we get it...
