HBO has announced that True Blood has been officially renewed for a sixth season.
Although the vampire show’s ratings for season five have so far been down by around a million on average each week compared to season four, the most recent episode to air in the States on Sunday was still the highest rated cable show for the day. No wonder HBO is clearly happy to keep it going.
With season six the shows creator, Alan Ball, will step back from his day-to-day duties on the show, with Mark Hudis ( Nurse Jackie ) taking over as showrunner.
Can we place a request Mark? Forget the fairies.
True Blood season five will air on FX in the UK this autumn.
