• War Of Gods is now the film formerly known as War Of Gods , as production company Relativity Media has announced that it’s changed its name to Immortals . Directed by Tarsem ( The Cell ) Singh, it's a film version of the Greek mythological hero Theseus who leads his men into battle with the gods to defeat evil and the powerful elder gods of the Titans in order to save mankind. Stars include John Hurt, Isabel Lucas, Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz, Joseph Morgan, Freida Pinto and Mickey Rourke. Filming commences this month for a 11 November 2011 release date.
• Not much was known about former Buffy cohorts Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon's horror movie The Cabin In The Woods until Amy (Fred in Angel ) Acker started blabbing to SCI FI Wire at WonderCon this weekend. She confirmed that at the film is indeed a creature feature: “There’s a lot of scary monsters,” she says. So, hurrah, SFX has an excuse to cover it now without needing to stretch a point. Acker co-stars with Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Kristen Connolly and Chris Hemsworth. The film was due to be released earlier this year, until it was decided to make the whole thing 3D.
