Two More Cast In The Dark Knight Rises
According to Variety , Brett Cullen and Chris Ellis have joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s third and final Batman movie as a judge and a priest, respectively. Cullen has appeared in Apollo 13 and Ghost Rider (as Johnny Blaze’s dad) while Ellis also appeared in Apollo 13 as well as Transformers , Armageddon and Catch Me If You Can .
John Carter Of No Fixed Abode
Walt Disney has announced that Pixar’s first live action film, John Carter Of Mars , will now be simply known as John Carter , which is a bit odd as it removes the truly interesting bit from the title and leaves you with a name which will only mean anything to a mere handful of the potential audience. But in another way, it makes sense, because the film is actually based more on the book A Princess Of Mars , while John Carter Of Mars was the name of a different, later book in author Edgar Rice Burroughs’s Mars series. Maybe Disney is just trying to get rid of any Mars references at all, fearing that setting the film there might come across a little cheesy these days. We’ll see…

Warners Looks To The Future
Warner Bros has acquired the rights to an as-yet-unpublished SF novel by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler called The Future of Us , according to Deadline . Set to be published in the US in November, the young adult novel is about a young girl who, back in the days of dial-up internet connection, logs onto the world wide web and finds that she can read her Facebook profile from the year 2011. Whenever she and her best friend try to change something about their future, the Facebook profile is then updated in kind.
Real Steel Poster
Oddly, (thankfully?), no sign of that irritating kid from the trailer.
