Stephen Amell will play the superhero archer in the CW pilot
US network The CW is forging ahead with it pilot for a Green Arrow TV series, called simply Arrow , with the announcement that the show has found the man to fill the emerald outfit.
According to Deadline , The new small screen Green Arrow/Oliver Queen will be Canadian-born Stephen Amell, whose credits include recurring guest roles on shows like Private Practice (in which he played Scott Becker), Hung (Jason), The Vampire Diaries (werewolf Brady) and the US Queer As Folk (spinning instructor). He was also on the shortlist for taking over the lead role in Spartacus following Andy Whitfield’s tragic departure, though that role ultimately went to Liam McIntyre.
The Green Arrow was previously seen on a CW show in Smallville , where he was played by Justin Hartley. The new show is also rumoured to feature Black Canary , another DC superhero.
