The World’s End has released a new pair of posters online, showing Simon Pegg and pals reacting to an alien invasion in the only sensible way… by clutching on to their pint-glasses for dear life.
The new posters feature Pegg and friends Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Eddie Marsan and Paddy Considine bracing themselves against a gang of bright-eyed aliens, hordes of whom appear to have taken over the boys’ home town.
Rosamund Pike is also on hand to leaven the testosterone somewhat, although she has taken the precaution of arming herself with the broken leg of a bar stool. That’ll show those pesky invaders…
The posters are finished off with a couple of quip-heavy taglines, from the pun-tastic “Barmageddon begins” to the warning / promise, “Prepare to get annihilated”. Lovely work.
Directed by Edgar Wright, The World’s End will open in the UK on 19 July 2013, before opening in the US on 23 August. In the meantime, you can take a look at the posters in full, below…
