Another Doctor Who writer will be joining the previously-announced Paul Cornell as a guest at the SFX Weekender at Camber Sands, East Sussex next February.
Phil Ford ’s name will be very familiar to viewers of Who’s CBBC spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures, for which he’s written seven stories (two of which feature in the upcoming third season). Before that, he penned all but three episodes of 2005’s frankly ace CGI version of Captain Scarlet (it really is ace, you know – would we have sat through Ministry Of Mayhem to catch it otherwise?) He scripted the Torchwood episode “Something Borrowed” (the one where Gwen gets married), and is now getting a thoroughly-deserved crack at the big time as the co-writer (with Russell T Davies) of the next Doctor Who special, “The Waters Of Mars”.
