The Typing of the Dead: Overkill bites into Steam
This is no time for stiff fingers: The Typing of the Dead: Overkill burst onto Steam today, a keyboard-tapping version of The House of the Dead: Overkill. Players bang out kill words one by one as the dead lurch into frame, trying to stop a mutant outbreak in Bayou City.
The Sega game is a new take on the absurd classic The Typing of the Dead, which carried out a similar tongue-in-cheek conversion of The House of the Dead 2. Two-player co-op is coming "shortly after launch as free DLC"--though online support would be great, we hope it lets you plug two keyboards into a machine for arcade-style typing action.
Of course, if you'd rather point and click than hunt and peck, The Typing of the Dead 2 includes a full port of the original PS3 version of Overkill. The whole package is normally $20 but is discounted to $10 as part of Steam's Halloween Sale through Nov. 1.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
