UK Wii Channels revealed
[Wii] English-language Wii interface shown-off inside
Tuesday 3 October 2006
If you struggled to make sense of the Japanese Wii Channel demo video we brought you last month then here's a batch of screens from the English language version of Wii's start-up interface, including images of the Mii character creator, the Virtual Console launcher and the main Channel page.
We're not convinced that all of Wii's Channels are of much use - when is your mum going to turn on the console, write out a note about ice cream on the message board and then save it on the off chance that you'll go straight to the message board next time you boot up your Wii? Post-it notes are not defunct just yet.
Nintendo is obviously gunning for a family-wide audience but let's hope it doesn't forget to show the same dedication to the more important matter of Wii's gaming line-up.
Above: With no specific Virtual Console channel, your interface is going to get crowded with new old-school downloads
