Final Fantasy 16 officially announced for PS5 only
Final Fantasy 16 is officially happening and it's a PlayStation console exclusive
Update: A Square Enix spokesperson has reached out with an official statement clarifying that Final Fantasy 16 will be coming to PS5, with no further information about it releasing on other platforms.
"We have no further information on if Final Fantasy 16 will be released on platforms other than the PS5," Square Enix said.
Originally, Final Fantasy 16 was thought to also be coming to PC thanks to the splash screen in the PS5 showcase last night, which read that it was coming to PlayStation consoles, with an asterisk indicating that it was "also available on PC". However, the latest statement confirms that currently it's only set to come to the next-gen PS5 console. We've also corrected the story below to reflect this.

The next entry in the Final Fantasy series has been rumored for quite some time, with hints that it would even be announced during the show, and now we know it's officially on the way.

I started out writing for the games section of a student-run website as an undergrad, and continued to write about games in my free time during retail and temp jobs for a number of years. Eventually, I earned an MA in magazine journalism at Cardiff University, and soon after got my first official role in the industry as a content editor for Stuff magazine. After writing about all things tech and games-related, I then did a brief stint as a freelancer before I landed my role as a staff writer here at GamesRadar+. Now I get to write features, previews, and reviews, and when I'm not doing that, you can usually find me lost in any one of the Dragon Age or Mass Effect games, tucking into another delightful indie, or drinking far too much tea for my own good.
