Those Terraria 2 teasers are just a gag, but Re-Logic isn't ruling out a sequel
Terraria 2 might be Re-Logic's next game, but the devs are "actively considering others"
Update: Terraria 2 could well be Re-Logic's next game, but the studio is "actively considering others."
In an email sent to GamesRadar, Re-Logic vice president Whitney Spinks clarified that today's Terraria 2 teases were "all in good fun," and that while a sequel is still technically on the table, it's not something the studio has committed to.
Here's the statement in full:
"As we have mentioned in our past 'State of the Game' posts, our team has been actively experimenting, doing game jams, and growing our skill sets as we prepare to start on the second title from Re-Logic. While certainly a sequel to Terraria would be one possible path we might take, we are actively considering others. As such, we remain not ready to share the exact direction that we plan to take with our second game at this time.
"That said, we do always enjoy the banter and speculation with our fanbase – and so you will note that quite a few of our team members have changed their Twitter locations to different Terraria-themed 'games'. This is all in good fun, of course… and who knows what the future might hold? When we are fully ready to share our path and plans ahead, we will reveal it in a big way to everyone. For now, we are enjoying the speculation while we work hard on setting the foundation for our future."
Original story:
Re-Logic is dangling Terraria 2 teasers in front of our poor, desperate faces, and the worst part is they could just be trolling.
It all started when self-proclaimed "Terraria enthusiast" Chippy spotted a pretty bold change to Re-Logic president and Terraria creator Andrew "Redigit" Spinks' Twitter bio: the location had been changed to "Terraria 2 - A New Age." At the time of writing, Spinks has yet to remove the teaser from his profile.
If that wasn't enough, Re-Logic vice president and Terraria game designer Whitney "Cenx" Spinks has also joined in on the fun, sharing a little "spoilers" gif in reply to Chippy's post. Spinks later replied to someone asking if Terraria 2 had been confirmed with, "Red is a massive troll. I wouldn't trust it. Or would I?"

As anyone who's been following game devs for any length of time knows, this is pretty standard banter in the lead-up to announcements. It's also worth noting that Chippy has worked with Re-Logic in the past, most recently with the announcement of Terraria update 1.4.4, so it's possible the YouTuber is in on the shenanigans as well.
Regardless, in all likelihood the Spinks are teasing an official reveal, but since one of the devs explicitly suggested they were just trolling - even if that part was the joke - it's worth taking this with a grain of salt for now.
In the meantime, here are all the concrete video game release dates we know about.
After scoring a degree in English from ASU, I worked as a copy editor while freelancing for places like SFX Magazine, Screen Rant, Game Revolution, and MMORPG on the side. Now, as GamesRadar's west coast Staff Writer, I'm responsible for managing the site's western regional executive branch, AKA my apartment, and writing about whatever horror game I'm too afraid to finish.
