Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3’s expanded roster is full of wonderfully strange additions, and now one of the most confusing finally gets showcased in these new trailers. Some might have thought adding Phoenix Wright was niche, but that’s nothing compared to Rocket Raccoon. Perhaps 99% of readers haven’t heard of the space-faring animal-man, but those dissatisfied should find solace in today’s other gameplay reveal for Frank West.
Dead Rising’s Frank looks pretty accurate in his trailer, with zombie throws, wrestling moves, and baseball bats. It’s great that his rest pose is always holding his camera and it seems he even does damage by taking an opponent’s photo. Though we like his specials that included combo weapons and chainsaws, our favorite has to be shoving a Servbot head on an enemy and then helicopter spinning them. Now that Frank’s finally in the game, he looks to be fitting in great.
If that trailer of Rocket Raccoon looking like a total badass didn’t sell you on the character, we don’t know what will. A very minor character until a few years ago, Rocket joined the Guardians of the Galaxy and attempts to keep the cosmic peace. The outwardly cute alien is an expert in most weapons, making him a dangerous (though loyal) operative. With his big moves and short stature he could end up being a real challenge, and we hope the rest of the gaming world comes to love him as much as we do.
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 comes out for PS3 and 360 November 15.
