The Uncharted Collection is missing a game, here's why
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will be released next week, and soon you'll be able to relive the complete adventures of the wisecracking fortune hunter on PS4. Well, almost complete, anyway. Unless you're an Uncharted fanatic or a Vita diehard, you might have forgotten about Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
It seemed like Naughty Dog and Nathan Drake Collection developer Bluepoint forgot about Golden Abyss, too, since the visually remastered bundle only includes Uncharted 1, 2, and 3. The studios actually did consider including the portable prequel, Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer told Power Up Gaming.
"But when we went back and looked at what we were trying to do with the Nathan Drake Collection, we realised that those three games - the trilogy - actually provided a particular narrative arc that led into Uncharted 4," Meyer said. "We wanted to keep that as a holistic collection for that reason, and Golden Abyss kind of lives a little bit outside of that.”
Perhaps it would have been better to call it Uncharted: The Elena Fisher Collection. She has a leading role in every Uncharted except Golden Abyss, where Marisa Chase appears as the original last year's model.
Marisa Chase was never heard from again, except in that Fight for Fortune Vita card game, which clearly doesn't count.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
