The last 50 years haven’t been good for ancient bloodsuckers. There have been quite a few of them hanging around for centuries – some even millennia – only to meet their doom in the last half century or so. Oddly this seems to have coincided with the rise of blockbuster cinema and the recent proliferation of fantasy TV series…
Anyway, here’s a chronological list of when some of the most famous screen vampires were sired or created. Some of the dates are a bit more exact than others, but if have some ancient scrolls or rune-painted rocks that sheds more light, feel free to let us know. We can even add more… though we don’t want the list becoming clogged up with really minor characters from Twilight. There are enough Cullens and Volturi in there already! Just important or pivotal bloodsuckers, please!
Enjoy!
