Battlefield 1 won't be out until October 21 and the beta doesn't begin until tomorrow. But if you're chomping at the bit for some World War 1 action, developers Blackmill Games and M2H have you covered with their WW1 shooter, Verdun. It's out now on PS4, and coming soon to Xbox One.
Verdun is multiplayer-only, with four modes in which players fight for supremacy: Frontlines, Attrition, Rifle Deathmatch and Squad Defense. Frontlines is a tactical game of area control, Attrition is a more standard team deathmatch affair, Rifle Deathmatch is a free-for-all, and Squad Defense is a wave-based survival mode.
It's a less bombastic and flashy game than DICE's Battlefield 1, but if you're a fan of the time period, you might want to check it out. Purchase before September 30 and you'll also get a 25% discount.
