Video: CoD: Black Ops brutal new Wager Mode could be the best and most frustrating thing ever
Treyarch reveals a new multiplayer mode. And boy, is it going to cause some fights
Still no official word on zombie mode yet (seriously guys, what the hell's going on?), but this new video from this week's CoD: Black Ops multiplayer event in L.A. reveals a a whole new online angle set to bring ecstatic joy and elegiac, murderous despair in equal measure.
Wager Mode allows players to bet in-game currency (COD Points, no doubt named after a high-level creative strategy meeting between a bunch of high-level creative execs, who rewarded themselves with yachts) on their final ranking, over four different match types of varying harshness. How harsh? Why, that particular knowledge is held within the fortified keep of a dark citadel, deepamongstthe dread mountains of a faraway mystical kingdom. In order to attain it you must journey...

So what do you reckon? Best game types ever? Annoying frustrat-o-thons? Personally I reckon they could really freshen up the CoD online formula, but I do worry that Gun Game could suffer from the old CoD balance problems by way of the leading players pulling away with the best weapons while everyone else trails with pistols and knives.
But I don't know. I haven't played it. But by now, Nathan, Charlie and Tyler Wilde probably have, via the aforementioned event in L.A. So watch this space, and surely they will furnish you with their opinions soon.
