Vin Diesel up for 3D xXx
Action sequel goes multi-dimensional (visually at least)...
No, not 3D text kisses.
Vin Diesel and director Rob Cohen are bursting back onto the action scene with a third xXx film, to be shot using those fancy 3D cameras that all Hollywood studios seem to have now.
Diesel bowed out of the first xXx sequel, while Cohen only served as exec producer. But Deadline are saying that Columbia Pictures want to buy the franchise from Paramount and get a new flick out by 2012.
The plot goes something like this: Xander Cage (Diesel) is left for dead, but returns to execute a very difficult assignment that only he can pull off.
Yeah, that gives away a lot. We imagine there will be a lot of ensuing explosions, gun-battles, and Vin Diesel sweating it out in a tank top.
Apparently the film will be set mostly in Europe, and Samuel L Jackson is expected to return as Cage’s “handler”, Agent Augustus Gibbons. That’s if he can fit the flick in around his nine-contract Marvel deal.
Diesel will shoot xXx 3D after he completes his other action sequel, Fast Five , the fifth Fast And Furious flick. Meanwhile, Cohen will be testing out that 3D technology by shooting Coca Cola’s first ever 3D advert...
