Vincent DOnofrio will play the villain in CHiPS
Anyone who has been watching Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix recently will know that Vincent D’Onofrio gives good villain, which is why Warner is in talks with the star to play the big bad in its forthcoming movie adaptation of CHiPS.
The original CHiPS show aired between 1977 and 1983, with Warner having long been keen on bringing the series to the silver screen. According to Deadline, D’Onofrio will play a ruthless former cop who has now turned to the dark side as the leader of a car-theft ring. Trying to thwart him will be Michael Peña and Dax Shepard, who will be playing motorcycle cops Frank Poncerello and Jon Baker.
As well as starring in this new version Shepard will also be occupying the director’s chair and co-writing the script. On top of that, as an experienced racecar and motorcycle driver he plans to do all his own stunts. An official release date has yet to be confirmed.
